Venice, Italy: Wombats City Hostel Venice Mestre

Beds

The Wombats hostels are one of my favorite hostel chains that I’ve stayed in! The beds are always big enough and seem rather new to be honest. Clean, comfortable sheets make for a super easy night of rest! I stayed in an 8-person dorm and never heard a bed squeak once.

Bathroom

Honestly, the bathroom was like staying at a 7-star hotel. Even better, the shower was in a separate room from the toilet with a sink in the shower room and a sink outside in the actually dorm room. The rooms are so nice you’ll want to stay in there even when you don’t need to shower!

Bar

Less of a party vibe and more of an elegant hang out vibe, the bar was a really comfortable area with plenty of tables and seating. I never ordered any food but the drinks were plenty (including a free welcome drink) and the breakfast was a buffet with all the Nutella you can handle!

Storage

There are storage lockers in the room that are locked/unlocked with your particular room card, which is associated with your particular locker. It’s a fantastic amenity and just extra security for any personal items you’d like to store behind lock and key… or swipe card. r

Notes

The hostel isn’t on the main island area of Venice, but it’s only a short 10 minute train ride away. Mestre is just one train stop away from the iconic canals that you’ve been dreaming of, and it only costs about $1.50 each way per person. The hostel itself is brand new and definitely feels like it (in a good way)! Laundry is on site for a fee as well as a kitchen area to make your own meals if you’d prefer to do that.

Value

For $15 per night, it’s an INCREDIBLE deal. Staying on the actual island area of Venice can run up some pretty good bills, so why not save some coin and stay 10 minutes away at a super comfortable area?! 10/10 will stay here again.

What else would you like to know about this hostel?! Leave a note in the comments and I’ll add it to the page!
