Beds

My room had 3 bunk beds that were a touch small for my large frame but overall got the job done. The worst is when the bed is small and makes a lot of noise, but that wasn’t the case. I had to get to bed quick and sleep well because I had a sunrise mission at Niagara Falls and this bed didn’t hinder my plans at all!

Bar

Ok, to be honest, I never went to the basement bar. I got in pretty late from a Blue Jays game down the street and headed straight to bed because I had a 3:30am wake up call for a sunrise mission. BUT. I can say that there was some crazy karaoke bursting out of that place and all the people in my room went down for that. So I can imagine it was pretty lit.

Bathroom

Each room has a bathroom for a single person with a sink outside the bathroom. Think of like a budget hotel bathroom in the states and that’s pretty much what it was. Pretty average as far as bathrooms go in hostels, but nothing that I’d classify as inconvenient.

Storage

Unfortunately there was no storage in my room. The bunks weren’t even high enough off the ground to slide my suitcase under. Thankfully I always travel with small locks to lock up my zippers. So make sure you’re prepared if you’re planning a stay here!

Notes

The location of the hostel is great! Right in downtown Toronto within walking distance of major sports arenas, bars, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. There’s a bar, kitchen, and a 24 hour desk attendant which is super helpful! Overall though, as far as hostels go, this was a super average hostel. Some hostels I get to and I’m blown away and love just hanging out because of the vibes, etc. This was not one of them.

Value

Here’s the negative for me. It was $48 per night to stay there and quite frankly I may have had better and cheaper accommodations at an Airbnb or budget hotel. That being said, I may have just caught it during peak season when prices jumped. I just did a search on Hotels.com and found nights for $19. Maybe you’ll have better luck than me!
