Beds

The beds were great! There are outlets in each little pod and the beds are super sturdy, so no squeaking or waking up anytime your bunkmate turns over. I stayed in an 8-person dorm and felt like there was tons of space for everybody!

Bathroom

There are community bathrooms just outside the dorm rooms. The only downside is there is only one shower per bathroom so you may find yourself needing to wait to use it. Fortunately, I never had to wait during my two days there. It wasn’t the best shower, but did the job. The bathroom was fairly large overall, which was nice.

Bar

The bar was out near the pool with plenty of seating, TV’s, and couches. The food was really good, prepared rather quickly and there are plenty of drink options! They also will accept payment in Zambian kwacha or USD, BUT they will not accept cards (which is typically anywhere in this area). So make sure you exchange money BEFORE you arrive!

Storage

There are storage lockers in the dorms but be sure to grab your own lock before your trip to lock it up on your own. The lockers don’t come with locks. The locker was big enough to fit both my suitcase and backpack which was awesome and pretty rare!

Notes

The biggest thing to note is that the Wifi here is pretty poor. It is only offered near the bar area and isn’t very strong. I phone and laptop couldn’t even connect the first day and a half I was there, so I had to walk to a café to get service. Aside from that, the hostel was a great spot, and probably the most popular and well known hostel in Livingstone. Also, when booking, this is the HOSTEL version of Jolly Boys, not the CAMP version.

Value

Even with the poor Wifi, at $15 per night this is a great value. The area is a PERFECT hang out area at night, there is a hangout room (shown above), and a super friendly English speaking staff! Also, there’s a gelato shop within walking distance… Just FYI.

What else would you like to know about this hostel?! Leave a note in the comments and I’ll add it to the page!
